A few days ago I posted that I had reached 10,000 Twitter followers. Since then I’ve gained another 2,000+ followers. Things are ramping up quickly and here is what happens when you reach 10,000 followers, the changes are BIG!<\/p>\n

I had a feeling it was going to be a magic number and I wasn’t disappointed.<\/p>\n

# More people start to follow<\/h3>\n

I admit that I also use filters and often search for people to follow with 10k or more followers themselves. It seems that I’m not the only one who does this. A lot more people with high followers have also found and followed compared to any other time.<\/p>\n

# More engagement<\/h3>\n

Finally! It was the one thing I felt was lacking and it has always been really difficult to get people to engage in conversation. At last I see more people interacting with me, something I’ve wanted for a long time.<\/p>\n

# Pinned Tweets really get noticed<\/h3>\n

I am going to write a post about pinned tweets because they are so important. My monthly impressions are low this month but look at all the engagements for my pinned tweet…<\/p>\n

119 Engagements and the engagement rate are both higher than a normal tweet. So the one tweet I have promoting my service is pinned and it is getting a lot more interactions than any normal tweet.<\/p>\n

# Likes and Retweets<\/h3>\n

These are about the same but I know why that is and how I can rectify it. I have a lot of new American followers so I’m going to start scheduling posts later in the evening to see how that compares to my usual UK day time tweets. The likes and RT’s should improve so I am going to look into that.<\/p>\n

How did you get the other 2,000 new followers so quickly?<\/h2>\n

Yes I am experimenting with something new. I am lucky that I can work for clients from any part of the World so the location of these followers are not important to me. If I were targeting local businesses I would still struggle and the rate of new followers would be a LOT lower. As this is an ongoing experiment I’d rather not say how I’m doing it as it is part of a service I can offer to new clients<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What I will say is that they are all real people. not bots, so each one of them is a potential new client.<\/p>\n
