General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is coming…

Reading Time: 1

The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will apply from 25 May 2018, when it supersedes the UK Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA). GDPR Compliance isn’t a choice and you must be able to demonstrate compliance with its data processing principles.GDPR seeks to give people more control over how organisations use their data, and introduced hefty penalties for organisations that faily to comply with the rules, and for those that suffer data breaches. Regardless of whether we are in or out of the EU, the GDPR compliance is still a requirement.

It is important that if you familiarise yourself with the GDPR requirements and have plans and a policy in place. I suggest a privacy policy on your website should be added (or amended if you haven’t edited the document for a period of time).
