Bad Web Design Vs Good Web Design

So much has changed since I started building websites in the 1990’s. Back then we didn’t need to worry about white space, position of content, colour schemes and so on. Until CSS came along it was chaos on a grand scale. So what’s changed?

As the internet developed and we could obtain more statistics about user behaviour is became clear we needed to pay attention to the user habits and try to build a website based on their habits and not the designers wishes.

Some of the old bad habits (animated backgrounds, midi file playing in the background etc) have thankfully gone for good but what else do you need to know? This lovely infographic from think360studio covers it really well..
