End of an Era at Cockington as the keys for the stables are handed over to a great cause.

K & H Carriages handed over the keys to their stable today, to a very worthy charity.

Devon Equine Crisis Support’s mission is to offer support and help to those in genuine need. They know how easy it is in the current climate for people to find themselves in financial difficulty. Whether this is through giving feed or helping with vet and farrier bills.

They also provide support locally for owners who face hospitalisation or palliative care by looking after the horse at the stables or with a volunteer going to them.

Patrick the Pony couldn’t resist joining in today, arriving in his plush new transportation.

The keys were handed over to D.E.C.S’s by Kirk and Hannah Petrakis, as well as Patrick the Pony.

Melissa Middleton B.E.M (Founder) said that they lost their yard a year and a half ago and have been desperately looking for stables that they can dismantle and reassemble at their yard.

The most urgent need for D.E.C.S has been an isolation stable, which they will now be able to have.

In February 2022, Kirk and Hannah from Community Pony CIC put out a post looking to donate their stables to an equine charity. They are both delighted at choosing D.E.C.S as the equine charity to take ownership of the stables.

The dismantling will begin soon and the stable’s new home will be well used.

If you want to get involved with Devon Equine Crisis Support, you can find all the ways you can help here, on their ‘How you can help‘ page, or donate directly here.

This is the final chapter for the stables for Kirk and Hannah, but their new ventures will keep them just as busy!
