Portrait photographer for a Torquay based counselor

A local counselor needed some photos for his website. No other specs were given and I had free reign to do what I needed. These were the results.

I asked what kind of sessions David offered. He likes the ‘walk and talk’ counseling, outside of his room. He is based in Torquay near the seafront so for me, Rock walk was the perfect setting.

Let’s take a look at a handful of examples…

I needed to make sure I had landscape, portrait, and ‘Hero’ image shots for the website. I had a mixture of varying focal lengths, lighting, and ideas for this photoshoot.

The day was very overcast and we had a few spots of rain. If you look at the shot with the Big Wheel in the background, you’ll see the real ambient light. It was dark and gloomy. If you look at the last photo in these examples, you’ll see the rain in the shot.

To brighten up the scene, even in the rain, I used my lighting to create a more feel-good mood for the scene. Even with a small reflector dish, and a single diffused small softbox, you can create some really soft light to balance the scene.
