The Princess Theatre in Torquay wanted me to do a photo shoot of the Snow White Christmas Pantomime cast, in full costume, for some social media promotions. They asked if I could… “Oh Yes I can”…

The location was the Marldon Christmas Tree Farm in Paignton and what a fantastic location for a festive photo shoot that was!

I mostly set-up for the inside shot. A simple 2 softbox lighting set-up, with a balance of a higher than normal ISO and a lower than normal shutter speed, to keep some of the lovely soft ambient lighting in the shot.

Based on a past shoot for Princess Theatre I knew I’d probably only have 15-20 minutes to get the shots so for the inside shot I arrived nice and early to give me time to set-up, test and get everything ready for a rapid-fire photo shoot.

The staff at the Marldon Christmas Tree Farm were exceptionally helpful. Moving furniture, letting me use some of their goods for props and so on. They were all an absolute credit to the farm. The farm is about to offer wedding packages. With a location and views like they have, I know they will do well and I can’t wait to work with them again in the future!
