One year ago, I launched my YouTube channel, DaysDayOut, not knowing just how much it would grow in such a short time. Now, with almost 900 subscribers and more than 100 local riders in the Instagram group, the community around these 125cc (and increasingly bigger) bike ride-outs has become something truly special. As a theatre photographer, there are few moments as exhilarating as capturing the essence of a beloved production like Beauty and the Beast. Last Christmas, I had the extraordinary opportunity to photograph a dress rehearsal of this timeless tale at the Princess Theatre in Torquay, Devon. I was halfway through a wedding day, the battery was getting low on one of my Sony A9’s. As I’ve done a thousand times, I turned off the camera, took the battery out, and put a new one in. This time, however, when I turned it on I had a black screen with a message saying something about rebuilding the database.
