Another incredible wedding at Larkbeare House in Exeter, Devon

I was the wedding photographer for a lovely couple, Christine and Micheal, who were married at the wonderful Larkbeare House in Exeter, followed by a cosy wedding reception at the Exeter Golf and Country Club. This is how the day went…

I met the bride-to-be at the Mercure Exeter Rougemont Hotel, Queen St, Exeter and I was there to photograph the Bridal prep and first look.

Quick Note: I don’t post photos of bridal preps because I feel they are private moments that should remain private. Once the hair and makeup are done, and things are about to move on, I feel this is a good time to start sharing a few photos of the day…

The vintage car was by an amazing company; Devon Classic Hire, based in Okehampton, Devon. The driver Gary, was incredibly helpful, kind, courteous and suggested a couple of shots that worked well with that particular wedding car. I can’t recommend Devon Classic Hire enough. They are the best classic car hire company I have come across so far.

The wonderful wedding hair and makeup were done by a lovely lady called Lucy. She was full PPE and did a fantastic job. Well done Lucy and I really hope we work together again!

I also want to say a very special and a big thank you to the registrar at Larkbeare House. Because of Covid, the numbers for the ceremony were limited to 6. I knew beforehand that I wouldn’t be able to take photos of their wedding ceremony because there simply wasn’t enough room for me. The registrar saw this, opened up the window and allowed me to take photos of the ceremony through the window while standing outside.

That simple yet beautiful action by the registrar allowed me to at least capture most of their ceremony. If you ever see this, I cannot ever thank you enough for doing that for us all!

Photographing a wedding ceremony through an open window will be tough to beat as the most unusual ceremony 😀

I use lights and strobes throughout the day. These give my photos a look and feel that I really enjoy. I hope you enjoy them too.
