This wedding took place at the very end of November, but so close to December that all the Christmas decorations were already up. That always changes the feel of a wedding day in the best possible way. Soft lights, Christmas trees, warm colours and that cosy atmosphere that only comes around once a year.

I arrived early, as I always do, giving myself time to take in the venue and photograph some of the details before things really got going. I also covered a small amount of bridal preparation at the hotel. These quieter moments at the start of the day are always important, not just for the photographs themselves, but for helping everyone feel relaxed and comfortable before the ceremony begins.

Jordan Productions invited me back to photograph the dress rehearsal for their 2025 Christmas Pantomime, but this time there was a little twist; they also wanted a full day of promotional photos and plenty of behind-the-scenes coverage. Lorna and Ryan chose one of the most stunning spots in Torquay for their big day, the Osborne Hotel. Set above Meadfoot Bay with views across to Thatcher Rock, it was the perfect backdrop for a summer wedding. August delivered exactly what you’d hope for, a hot, warm day filled with blue skies and colour everywhere. The flowers lining the pathway down to the wooden marquee were bursting with life and made for a spectacular entrance to the ceremony.
