A Beautiful Summer Wedding at the Osborne Hotel, Torquay

Lorna and Ryan chose one of the most stunning spots in Torquay for their big day, the Osborne Hotel. Set above Meadfoot Bay with views across to Thatcher Rock, it was the perfect backdrop for a summer wedding. August delivered exactly what you’d hope for, a hot, warm day filled with blue skies and colour everywhere. The flowers lining the pathway down to the wooden marquee were bursting with life and made for a spectacular entrance to the ceremony.

Golf Buggies, Rain Delays, and Big Emotions; A Wedding Day at Elfordleigh Hotel

Some wedding days go exactly to plan… and some hand you a soggy golf course and say, “Let’s see how creative you can be, then.”

This one? Definitely the second kind. And I loved every minute of it!

A Tiny Wedding With a Big Heart. Fi & Paul at Cockington Court

When people think of weddings, they often picture hundreds of guests, a packed dance floor, and a day that runs from sunrise to midnight. But there’s something truly special about a small wedding, especially one with as much heart, laughter, and love as Fi and Paul’s intimate day at Cockington Court.

A Rainy, Beautiful Day: Wedding Photography at Cockington Court, Torquay

Weddings come with their own unique stories, and sometimes, a little rain just adds to the magic. Recently, I had the pleasure of photographing an intimate ceremony at Cockington Court in Torquay, Devon. With only 20 guests, a stunning vintage Rolls Royce, and a whole lot of laughter despite the weather, it’s a wedding I won’t soon forget.

Farewell to Larkbeare House: A Wedding Photographer’s Last Shoot at an Exeter Gem

Larkbeare House in Exeter has long been a favourite wedding venue of mine. With its stunning gardens, elegant architecture, and intimate charm, it has provided the perfect backdrop for countless beautiful weddings. But this one was bittersweet. It was one of the last weddings ever to be held at Larkbeare House before it is sold. As I photographed the day, I couldn’t help but reflect on all the memories I’d captured there over the years.

My Favourite wedding photos of 2024, and how I took those shots.

What a year it’s been! 2024 was packed with beautiful venues, incredible couples, and more confetti than I care to count. As we approach the end of the year, I’ve been reflecting on my favourite moments, venues, and of course, the gear that helped make those moments truly shine.

Capturing Love at the Bickley Mill Inn: A Joyful Lesbian Wedding

There’s something special about photographing a wedding, but there’s an extra spark when it’s an intimate celebration like the one I recently had the pleasure of capturing for Lynsey and Anna. They chose the Bickley Mill Inn in Stoneycombe, Newton Abbot, a charming spot nestled in the Devon countryside. With only 25 of their nearest and dearest gathered, it felt like the sort of cozy affair where everyone knows everyone else’s name, and by the end, I think I did too!

Every wedding has its own style, rhythm, and charm, and as a photographer, it’s always an adventure to see how each one unfolds. Recently, I had the privilege of photographing a wedding that started at the historic Cockington Court in Torquay and wrapped up with a reception at TQ Beerworks near Torquay beach. This day was full of laughter, tears, and some incredible moments that I’ll cherish, not to mention a few interesting challenges.

Wedding Photography at the Toorak Hotel, Torquay: David & Violet’s Beautiful Day

When I was booked to photograph David and Violet’s wedding at the Toorak Hotel in Torquay, Devon, I knew it was going to be a memorable one. Not just because it’s always an honour to capture such an important day, but because it was going to be a little different than the usual wedding. Two ceremonies, an outdoor setting, and some last-minute surprises kept things lively from start to finish. But, as with most weddings, the unexpected makes for some of the best stories, and in this case, some great photos.

Capturing Love at the Imperial Hotel, Torquay: A Wedding Photography Journey

On the last day of July, I found myself at the Imperial Hotel in Torquay, ready to photograph what turned out to be one of the most heartfelt weddings I’ve ever worked on. It was one of those days where the summer heat is almost tangible, the kind of day where you don’t just feel the temperature, you wear it. The sky had a hazy glow, the sort that adds a soft, almost cinematic filter to every moment, making the couple’s big day feel even more special.
